Eyeglasses

Recently I have had my eyes tested twice.  I went for a regular check up to the eye dr. just a few months ago.  As you get a little older, good eye health is important to me.  I came away with a  good report and was thankful.  Yes, I have to wear reading glasses, but that’s not so bad and you can buy them very inexpensively.  But just a little while after that check up, something weird happened to me one day.  I was sitting in a ladies meeting and all of a sudden,  I couldn’t see very well and there were “things” in front of my eyes and flashes of light to the side.   It went away within a few seconds, but kept reoccurring every so often.  Because of that,  I felt it necessary to get checked again.  This time I went to see an ophthalmologist.  Sometimes, while you think there may end up to be some sort of change you begin looking at eyewear sites to see if you can find something you like – you know – just in case. Do I believe what Jesus saith ...

Do I believe what Jesus saith,  And think the gospel true?  Lord, make me bold to own my faith, And practice virtue too.  Suppress my shame,  subdue my fear,  Arm me with heavenly zeal,  That I may make thy power appear, And works of praise fulfill.  ~Isaac Watts

What is your idol?

Spurgeon's Morning and Evening Devotional "Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods." --Jeremiah 16:20 "The dearest idol I have known, Whate'er that idol be; Help me to tear it from thy throne, And worship only thee." What is your idol? Whether it be people or things, may we keep our selves from them and worship only the LORD! 1 John 5:21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

A “Voting” Request

This is My Mother-In-Law. She is the only mother we have here on earth now. She was recently in an accident and we thought she would not walk again or at least be in a wheel chair for a long time. Faith, prayers and a miracle from God has already allowed her to walk again just 4 months after the accident. She has over 80 grand children and great grand children. She loves and prays for all of her family continually. She is a wonderful mother and mother-in-law. She loves to read and a Kindle would be a wonderful gift for her. Hope you will vote for her. Does God give Gifts through trials? - Another True Story

The following testimony is an amazing story of our newest grandson, Caleb and the trials that his daddy and mommy experienced at his birth. The testimony is written by Caleb's daddy. James 1:16-17 Says: “Do not err, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Before our Son Caleb was born, I had a different understanding of these verses. Now, you might think that Caleb is the "good gift" that I'm thinking of when I quote these verses and indeed he is a very good gift for which I am thankful. When he was born as many of you know, he had problems, his lungs were not quite ready to breath air. As a result, he had to spend two weeks in the Infant ICU at Carolina's Medical Center in Charlotte. My immediate thought when I realized what was happening was why me? These things happen to other people, but not to me. I also kept thinking to mysel...

Miracle–Another True Story

This is Miracle Miracle has a name that fits.  Let me tell you why.  First of all, Miracle’s mama died when he was two days old.  He had to be nursed along and as you can see he survived! That definitely was a miracle!   But Miracle’s name also fits for another reason.  That reason has to do with the following true story.  R_____, a friend of mine was having a rough year.  She was going through some trying times and some “down” times.  Several things were taking place in the lives of her family members. R_____ has a daughter and son-in-law who have five children and they are currently on deputation to raise support to go to the mission field.  This has always been the heart’s desire of her daughter and now the Lord was giving her that desire.  But right in the middle of this, her daughter was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.  Another daughter was pregnant with their fourth child.  The doctors kept telling them there...
