Does God give Gifts through trials? - Another True Story

The following testimony is an amazing story of our newest grandson, Caleb and the trials that his daddy and mommy experienced at his birth. The testimony is written by Caleb's daddy. James 1:16-17 Says: “Do not err, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Before our Son Caleb was born, I had a different understanding of these verses. Now, you might think that Caleb is the "good gift" that I'm thinking of when I quote these verses and indeed he is a very good gift for which I am thankful. When he was born as many of you know, he had problems, his lungs were not quite ready to breath air. As a result, he had to spend two weeks in the Infant ICU at Carolina's Medical Center in Charlotte. My immediate thought when I realized what was happening was why me? These things happen to other people, but not to me. I also kept thinking to mysel...

Trials, Tribulations, and Trust!

This has been a week!  We never know what one day might bring.  Our 13th grandbaby was born on Tuesday! Caleb Lay came into the world weighing 6.9 pounds and 20” long.  Everything checked out fine except  that he was having breathing problems.  He  had to be air lifted to a children's hospital in Charlotte.  He looked so pitiful hooked up to all those machines, but we are sure thankful for the doctors and the technology these days that can save so many little lives.  He seemed to be doing better in just a short while and then one of his little lungs began collapsing and they had to do some risky procedures on him.  Praise the Lord for opportunities during this time.  My son was able to tell the doctor that this little guy had been given to the Lord and it was the Lord who decided between life and death.  They told the doctors to do what they thought was best and they would ask the Lord to guide his decisions and his hands.  Go...

ABORTION

The poem below was written by a teen-age resident at the Hephzibah House ministry. See him sit with features formed, in the hand of the One Divine, Each little tiny finger, each little toe, shaped from day so fine; God hath wrought this special one, for a purpose and a plan, To bring glory to His name, and to live for celestial gain.   But the one whom God hath chosen to carry His precious babe, Thought her sin too large and great and made a choice in shame; Death was the degrading sentence, with fear the reason why And gone was the child God did form, with a silent unheard cry.   Now before his God he stands, while his body with others rests, The souls of hindered children cry for judgment to be passed; How long with this nation endure, while mocking human life? God will require it at our hand, and rain judgment with strife.   *Note:  While the author of this blog does not believe in abortion, she does believe that God did not ordain sin nor the wron...

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; I Corinthians 1:27 Below is a copy of an email that a friend of mine received recently from a friend. Her husband is currently the director of the Pregnancy Resource Center in Shelby, NC.   Here is the letter: I've been led to tell you this story. I know you work with women who find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy. But I can certainly see the potential of someone who may not have the faith and support system to seek out your center for guidance, if they were given difficult news about the baby they were carrying by doctors. My friend came to me in July, asking me to pray for her son, daughter-in-law and the baby her DIL was carrying. At 20 weeks, her DIL had an ultrasound and they were given the news that there was no amniotic fluid, which meant the baby's lungs would not develop. Since there was nothing th...

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

Psalms 139:14-18  I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.  My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.  Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.   How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee. So thankful that our 12th grand child (girl # 8) arrived safe and sound this morning!   Mommy had to have a C-section – her fourth, so we were thankful for God’s protection and for a healthy delivery.  Mom and baby are fine.  Little Karrington Lee weighed in 6 lb. and 4 oz., 19.5 inches long.  Hope to see her soon!  God is so g...

God's Will Regarding Birth Control

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. "The dangerous performance enhancing steroids taken by athletes are male steroid hormonal drugs that build muscle. One of their risks is liver cancer. Similarly, female steroid hormonal drugs build breast tissue. They not only increase the risk of liver cancer but breast and cervical cancers as well. These powerful steroid drugs are taken by millions of teenage girls as BIRTH CONTROL PILLS." You can read more about it HERE There are many ignorant people regarding birth control pills.  I was one of those, but now know differently.  Do your research before just assuming that everything is ok.
