Wednesday’s Wisdom

Psalms 119:24  Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors. Is the Word of God my continual delight and do I allow it to counsel me? This verse brought reminders of the verse below: Proverbs 11:14  Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety. Proverbs 15:22  Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. Proverbs 24:6  For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety. May the testimonies of God be my conintual delight and my counsellors.  God’s Word is the best source of counsel!

Wednesday’s Wisdom

1 Chronicles 18:13 . . .Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went. When we are in the Lord’s hands, we are indispensable until the Lord calls us home.  He will preserve us wherever we go! ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: 1 Chronicles 19:13  Be of good courage, and let us behave ourselves valiantly for our people, and for the cities of our God: and let the LORD do that which is good in his sight. As God’s Children we should be of good courage and behave valiantly, not just for our own sake, but for the sake of other believers Then we can let the LORD do that which is good in His sight.

Wednesday’s Wisdom – A Still Small Voice

1 Kings 19:1-21 Even in Elijah’s discouragement, the Lord keeps ministering to his heart.  Praise the Lord, He never leaves us nor forsakes us.  He continually ministers to us even during discouraging times. Elijah heard God is a still small voice.   How important to listen to the Lord and hear His still small voice.  Am I still long enough to hear what He has to say to me? Psalms 46:10  Be still, and know that I am God: . . .

Wednesday’s Wisdom

1 Kings 8:61  Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day. How much do we give? Psalms 96:8-9 “Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name:” (Give Praise and worship) “bring an offering, and come into his courts.” (Give personal wealth) “O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.” (Give practical witness) “ God wants our praise.  The world needs our practical witness of a holy life.  and we need to give our personal wealth.  God does not need our gifts-but we need to give.  The greatest gift we can give is to give our lives to His service. ~The above is from My Morning Manna, vol. 3, p. 226, by Ed Nelson

Wednesday’s Wisdom - Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

1 Kings 2:3  And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself: As David charged his son Solomon, we also ought to charge our children to walk in the ways of the Lord.  This alone will cause them to prosper in all that they do.  Pray for them daily to follow the LORD whole heartedly. 1 Kings 3:7-9  And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in. And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude. Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? ...
