Some Things do not have an End

I love my family.  There are the only thing on earth you can take with you to eternity.  How important to share the gospel with all of them!  It is exciting to see my grand children, one by one come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior.  I look forward to the day when each one of them has been saved through the blood of Jesus Christ and I look forward to that great reunion in heaven.  You can be 100% sure!

Revelation 21:9 “ Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.”

Bridal showers can be such fun!  It is especially fun when the new bride is a former junior Sunday School Student.  It is thrilling to see your students go on in service for the Lord. Becky will be getting married in June and she and her future husband are already active in a church where he is now the assistant pastor and youth director.  After marriage, they will continue right on serving the Lord.   Becky also has a blog called “Life in the Big City”. The devotional at Becky’s shower was a comparison of a Jewish marriage  to us as the bride of Christ. A wonderful friend of mine, Mrs. B. Upton gave the devotional.   Below are some of the points that were made.  You can also find Mrs. B. Upton’s personal testimony of salvation following this devotional. The groom would travel from His father’s home to the bride’s house. -  Christ left His Father’s home and came to earth to gain a bride for Himself. John 6:37-38  All that the ...

The Goodness of God Leadeth thee to Repentance - A True Story

Below is a true story of a man that was changed by the grace of God. I am glad to share this story as I have seen first hand that his life has been changed! (2Cor. 5:17) "...not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?" - Rom. 2:4 Today I must declare the goodness of God by sharing a story with you and perhaps challenge even my own heart and maybe the heart of another in how good God is. In October of 2009 there was a 26 year old man named Travis Berryhill living the life of a homeless drunk on the streets of Shelby. He had ruined every friend and family relationship that he had and although there were multiple places he used to live and jobs he used to have, these were all destroyed by drink (a topic for another day but if you play with this sin remember what GOD has said: "At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like and adder") and there was no place for him to sleep but at the homeless shelter, under a railroad bridge, in hi...

Heaven or Hell, the choice is yours

My husband and I were looking at pictures of the recent volcano, Mount Merapi , in Indonesia. As I watched, I saw the immensity of the fire and smoke and was overwhelmed.  I was even shuddering, shuddering to think of all the people affected and lives that were lost and many who were fleeing for their lives.   As I thought about everything, I was reminded about Hell.  Hell is a real place – a place where the fire is never quenched, a place of everlasting torment. The pictures of the volcano and the reality of it does not even compare with what hell will really be like.  Time is short and I was convicted that the Gospel must get out before it is too late, before there is no more time.  What a loving and longsuffering God we have!  Psalms 9:17   The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. Proverbs 15:24   The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath. Matthew 10:28 ...
