Are you “being” these 4 things?

Be Thankful “ Offer unto God thanksgiving” Be Trustworthy “ pay thy vows unto the most High” Be Trusting ‘ call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee” Be Triumphing in the Lord “ thou shalt glorify me”

Burdens–A gift from God?

Can burdens be a gift from God?  Maybe so.  They teach us to obey by casting those burdens on the Lord.  He is the one who sustains and keeps us stedfast and solid on the Rock of all ages. Psalms 55:22  Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. When we are burdened through trials we have a haven of rest.  We can come to the Lord, be attached to His yoke, learning more of Him. Because his yoke is easy, (“That rest which the soul experiences when once safe under Christ's wing makes all yokes easy, all burdens light.” Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Commentary ) this truly gives rest to our souls. Matthew 11:28-30  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. As we are burdened through different trials we fin...

Saturday’s Sanctification 1 Thessalonians 4:4 “ That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;…”

Psalms 31:23-24  O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer. Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD. Love the Lord and Be of good courage, hope in the Lord and the result will be: preservation because of our faithfulness rewards a strengthened heart

Thursday’s Thoughts

Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. “To Number our days does not mean to count them – it means to value them in the light of eternity.” How do we apply our hearts to wisdom? Know Jesus as your Savior Accept the Bible as your guide for life. Obey the bible and apply its’ truths to your life. The above thoughts were taken from My Morning Manna by Ed Nelson, vol. 3, p. 213 ***************** Psalms 29:2  Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. 2 Chronicles 20:21  And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, . . .   Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee; Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty! God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity! Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee, Casting down their golden c...

4th of July

Just a day late, but never too late to be thankful for our country and for the freedoms that we still have. 2 Chronicles 7:14  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Blessed Be the Name of the Lord

God is so good.  I must remember that God is good all the time no matter the circumstances.  Recently, my son and daughter in law moved to Brazil as missionaries and oh the trials they have gone through just since moving in March.  Our daughter in law has had some serious health problems with colitis and then contracted a bacterial infection.  We wonder why,  but don't question God for we know He knows what He is doing.  He is at work in their lives as well as ours.  We are thankful for their attitudes and their strength in the Lord through all of this.  In and through all of it, as Job, they have not "charged God foolishly"  but have put their trust in Him and not leaned to their own understanding.  You can read more detail on their blog " Lockhart Life In Brazil " Job 1:21-22  And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of t...

Tips to having a house full of love

Teach the Word of God to you children and grand children so they will set thier hope in God so they will not forget God so they will keep His commandments so they will not be stubborn and rebellious These are just a few thoughts taken from Psalm 78: 7-8.   "That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments: And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God." Our homes will be full of love, God's love, if we will but simply trust and obey.
