5th and 6th Grade Sunday School Christmas Party

Last Friday my husband's Sunday School Class came for a Christmas Party.  We had fun making snowman candles,  playing games,  eating pizza and treats,  playing a gift exchange game, and having a devotion from God's Word. Our devotions included the following points: Christmas is a time to give, but also  a time to think about "the gift" (Jesus) the best gift - the most valuable the most needed gift - 1 John 5:12  He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. the most enduring John 10:28  And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. Jesus gave to the undeserving   - ungodly Romans 5:6  For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. Jesus gave to His enemies Colossians 1:21  And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reco...

More Middle Age Funnies

On Getting Older

Here are some “funnies” that were used at our last ladies fellowship.  I will post a few at a time.

Do You Do Pinterest?

If you have not found Pinterest yet, then you are missing out.  This has been one of the best places that I have been on the internet.  It is so fun and addicting so I need to be careful.  But I love the fact that it allows me to create bulletin boards for any category I want and then pin any item of interest that I find.  Then I have it saved, with a picture so I can go back to it for future reference.  I have found so many new ideas, recipes, fun stuff, tips, and even new friends.  If you haven’t tried it, you should.  Today I did a frugal little project that was so fast and easy.  I made my own cleaning rags.  I had pinned a tutorial on my frugal board and then just changed it to fit with what I already had in the house.  You can see the original tutorial here in case you like what she does. Below you see what I did: cut up some old dish towels put the towels into the Rubbermaid container Added about a cup of water Added a few...

More on the Lighter Side

My Favorite Animal Our teacher asked us what our favorite animal was, and I said, “Fried chicken.”  She said I wasn’t funny, but she couldn’t have been right, because everyone else in the class laughed.  My parents told me to always be truthful and honest, and I am.  Fried chicken is my favorite animal.  I told my dad what happened, and he said my teacher was probably a member of PETA.  He said they love animals very much.  I do too, especially chicken.  She asked me why, just like she’d asked the other children.  So I told her it was because you could make them into fried chicken.  She sent me back to the principal’s office again.  He laughed, and told me not to do it again.  I don’t understand.  My parents taught me to be honest, but my teacher doesn’t like it when I am.  Today, my teacher asked us to tell her what famous person we admire most.  I told her, “Colonel Sanders, “Guess where I am now…. The Picnic A ...

What Is Your Favorite Hymn?

I recently posted this on facebook because I thought it was cute and I know how children misunderstand words in songs. However, many people still commented with their favorite hymns. Do you have a favorite hymn? Why not share it in a comment below? I have more than one, but one of my favorites is "Jesus Paid It All".

Need a Break?

Boy, this time change certainly has made me tired.  Gotta find the best position to take a nap.
