Such a Gingery Day :)

Over Christmas, I had some ginger ale left after a party. It was going a little flat and I wanted to enhance the flavor a little so decided to add some ginger to it to give it a little more gingery, spicy, snappy flavor. I just added a teaspoon or so (I am not really sure how much) to a glass and added the ginger ale. After it sat a while, I poured it through a strainer and then drank it. Well, it worked and we actually liked it that way pretty well. So I decided to try it again. I bought a two liter of ginger ale and this time I decided to add the ginger right into the bottle of ginger ale and then strain it as I drank it. It seemed to be working fine, but after 30 seconds or so, I noticed that the ginger ale was starting to foam a little. I decided to put the lid back on. As soon as I did, not only was it foam, but it began spewing everywhere! I never did get the lid back on and maybe that was good because we could have had an explosion. I sort of let out a screech, overreacting like I often do, and hurried it into the sink before my kitchen was a total disaster. My husband said, get the video camera, and of course I could not think fast enough to know where it was. But we did manage to get a picture of the tail end of it. It was really much worse than this. Oh well, that was my excitement for the day.

Wednesday’s Wisdom

1 Kings 8:61  Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day. How much do we give? Psalms 96:8-9 “Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name:” (Give Praise and worship) “bring an offering, and come into his courts.” (Give personal wealth) “O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.” (Give practical witness) “ God wants our praise.  The world needs our practical witness of a holy life.  and we need to give our personal wealth.  God does not need our gifts-but we need to give.  The greatest gift we can give is to give our lives to His service. ~The above is from My Morning Manna, vol. 3, p. 226, by Ed Nelson

Did You Know?

I like to use the site Moments with the Book .   It is a great site for ordering tracts and for finding other wonderful information.  You may notice that one one of my pages (at the bottom) I have a tract that displays from their site.  Below I found some interesting facts from a back issue of Moments for You .  This is a free booklet, that can be read on line or you can order it by mail.  Did You Know That...? In just one second, the sun releases more energy than mankind has produced since the creation, including all the engines, power plants, and weapons ever constructed. The star Betelgeuse is one million times larger than our sun and gives off 120,000 times as much light energy. No two stars are alike. Each star bears a unique "fingerprint" or spectrum in its light pattern. If the stars could be divided up among the world's population of six billion, each person on earth would receive 11Ž2 trillion stars! The most familiar star is the North Star...
