Love the Mountains

How blessed we were to be able to take a vacation this past week. We headed for Roan Mountain, TN which is on the border of North Carolina. It is a beautiful place. I have posted pictures here. Eventually I will get them all posted. It never ceases to amaze me when I see the beauty of God's creation. While hiking I love to just stop and look around and take it all in! We actually went several places. They included:


What a wonderful relaxing time! However, we did have to leave the beauty of the mountains and travel to Atlanta, GA for my brother's 60th birthday party! That is so hard to believe. Life really is a vapor. How important to redeem the time and walk circumspectly not as fools, but as wise. (Eph 5:15-16)

The party went well and it was good to see my brother and his family as well as visit my husband's mother who also lives in the Atlanta area.

So glad to arrive home safely and sleep in my own bed! There's is no place like home sweet home.

9 Characteristics of a Christian’s Music

I love to listen and sit under the influence of Dr. Don Scovill, music chairman of Ambassador Baptist College and music director at our church, Maranatha Baptist Church of Shelby, NC. He has been teaching in Sunday School on music.  Last Sunday he gave us 9 characteristics of a Christian’s Music.  Truly, the music of a Christian ought to be different from that of the world.
