Prayer Requests

Mel left this morning to fly out to Orlando to meet Jeremy and Esther. They will be flying out from Orlando this evening for Brazil. Mel will drive their van back to NC. Here are a few prayer requests.
• Mel’s safety in travel to FL and back
• Jeremy and Esther’s safety to Brazil
• Jeremy and Esther have asked specifically that everyone pray that the kids will sleep through the night on the flight. They feel this will make a much easier transition when they land in Brazil to go through customs, especially if they don’t have to deal with cranky kids.
• Pray for ease in getting through customs. They have ten 70lb. boxes and about eight carry ons, three children, and two strollers. Pray that it will not take long to get through customs, that they will not open many boxes and that they can catch their next flight on time. It leaves within two hours.
• Pray for continued health needs for Esther and Allie. Both are doing better, however, Allie did have one of her fevers about a week before they left. Pray that these will cease.
• They will start language school within two weeks. Pray for ease in learning the language.

Thank you all very much for your prayers and your support. We are grateful for all that the Lord has done in their lives.
God did and still does answer prayers.

Some Things do not have an End

I love my family.  There are the only thing on earth you can take with you to eternity.  How important to share the gospel with all of them!  It is exciting to see my grand children, one by one come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior.  I look forward to the day when each one of them has been saved through the blood of Jesus Christ and I look forward to that great reunion in heaven.  You can be 100% sure!

9 Characteristics of a Christian’s Music

I love to listen and sit under the influence of Dr. Don Scovill, music chairman of Ambassador Baptist College and music director at our church, Maranatha Baptist Church of Shelby, NC. He has been teaching in Sunday School on music.  Last Sunday he gave us 9 characteristics of a Christian’s Music.  Truly, the music of a Christian ought to be different from that of the world. My music must show my changed life or regenerated experience.  If there is no change, then we have a defective salvation or perhaps, no salvation.  2Corinthians 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. My music should show ownership. We are not our own.  We belong to Christ.  Be careful what you put into your body, mind, and soul.  Does it reflect the ownership of Christ? 1 Corinthians 6:19-20  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which y...
