The Goodness of God Leadeth thee to Repentance - A True Story

Below is a true story of a man that was changed by the grace of God. I am glad to share this story as I have seen first hand that his life has been changed! (2Cor. 5:17) "...not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?" - Rom. 2:4 Today I must declare the goodness of God by sharing a story with you and perhaps challenge even my own heart and maybe the heart of another in how good God is. In October of 2009 there was a 26 year old man named Travis Berryhill living the life of a homeless drunk on the streets of Shelby. He had ruined every friend and family relationship that he had and although there were multiple places he used to live and jobs he used to have, these were all destroyed by drink (a topic for another day but if you play with this sin remember what GOD has said: "At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like and adder") and there was no place for him to sleep but at the homeless shelter, under a railroad bridge, in hi...
It has been said the Patrick used the shamrock as a symbol to teach the doctrine of the Trinity to unbelievers. He would say "Is it one leaf or three?" "It is both one leaf and three," was their reply. He would teach that God is One God in Three Persons. " Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father , and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost " (Matthew 28:19).

Need a Break?

Something the World Does not Have!

I really wanted to save all the little notes of encouragement that people have sent while going through these few trials that the Lord has allowed. It is such a blessing to know that others care are upholding you in prayer. If nothing else these trials have reminded me of the importance to pray one for another. How we need our Christian Brethren! We never know what another one might be going through. How often I have been quick to judge another rather than uphold that person in prayer. May the Lord help me to not be like Job’s friends, but instead to be a friend who encourages and prays. I have saved all my little notes and listed them below. I will add to them as they come in. What an encouragement! How about you? What encourages you when facing a trial or a hardship? I hope you will take time to share. Prayer Changes Things They are in our prayers for God's wisdom and protection regarding this secondary infection. They have had some significant trials in their fi...

Burdens–A gift from God?

Can burdens be a gift from God?  Maybe so.  They teach us to obey by casting those burdens on the Lord.  He is the one who sustains and keeps us stedfast and solid on the Rock of all ages. Psalms 55:22  Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. When we are burdened through trials we have a haven of rest.  We can come to the Lord, be attached to His yoke, learning more of Him. Because his yoke is easy, (“That rest which the soul experiences when once safe under Christ's wing makes all yokes easy, all burdens light.” Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Commentary ) this truly gives rest to our souls. Matthew 11:28-30  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. As we are burdened through different trials we fin...
