Saturday’s Sanctification 1 Thessalonians 4:4 “ That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;…”

Psalms 31:23-24  O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer. Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD. Love the Lord and Be of good courage, hope in the Lord and the result will be: preservation because of our faithfulness rewards a strengthened heart

Friday’s Freshness

Psalms 91:1-2 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. I have the privilege of dwelling in the secret place of the most High (this is the God who possesses everything!) If I dwell in the secret place, then I also abide under the shadow of the almighty (this is the God who is all sufficient to supply our every need) The LORD (this is Jehovah, the God who keeps His promises) is my refuge and my fortress. He is my God (this is the God who is all powerful) I can, will, should, need to trust only in Him! “All believers have access to this secret place, but only those who walk closely with Him abide there.” ~Ed Nelson, My Morning Manna, vol. 3 p. 214 ******************** Psalms 30:4 Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. Once again I am reminded of God’s holiness a

Thursday’s Thoughts

Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. “To Number our days does not mean to count them – it means to value them in the light of eternity.” How do we apply our hearts to wisdom? Know Jesus as your Savior Accept the Bible as your guide for life. Obey the bible and apply its’ truths to your life. The above thoughts were taken from My Morning Manna by Ed Nelson, vol. 3, p. 213 ***************** Psalms 29:2  Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. 2 Chronicles 20:21  And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, . . .   Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee; Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty! God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity! Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee, Casting down their golden crowns around the gl

Wednesday's Wisdom

Psalms 28:7  The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. God is: -my strength -my shield Because of this I should: -trust in Him When I trust in Him: -He will help me This causes me to: -rejoice in my heart -praise Him with my song ****************************** "If you are not praising, it is because you do not have joy; if you do not have joy, it is because you have not recognized His help; if you do not have help, it is because you have not trusted.  We must trust Him today, recognize His help today, and thus have His joy producing the song that praise Him." ~ Ed Nelson - My Morning Manna Vol. 3 p.54 MORE QUOTES

Tuesday's Treasure

Psalms 27:1    The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Answer:  No One!   Psalms 3:6  I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

Lockhart Life in the Carolinas

It has been nearly 5 months since Jeremy and Esther left for Brazil.  My how we miss them, but oh how thankful we are for children who love the Lord and are willing to serve wherever the Lord sends them.  They have been through quite a lot in these past five months.  You can read about a lot of it here in their blog .  Esther has faced quite a bit of sickness putting them behind in language school.  This illness has also made it necessary for Esther to begin a diet in order to assist her in her health needs.  It is called the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD).  They have had to do quite a bit of study and searching in order to find the foods and vitamins that Esther needs.  It will take some time to get adjusted and to figure out exactly what foods are tolerable and which ones are not.  They would greatly appreciate your prayers for strength and wisdom during this trying time.  Jeremy is back in language school, but Esther is sitting out a while longer until she can get her strength ba

Monday's Manna

Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. ************** Psalms 90:15  Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil. Can someone be glad in his affliction?    Romans 8:28-29  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. God can take our afflictions and use them for our good.  Jacob went through much affliction when he thought he lost Joseph, his son, when in actuality it was God's plan for saving the nation Israel.  Surely Jacob was "glad" when he found out that Joseph was alive and that his life and the lives of his family would be saved.  Affliction can ultimately bring gladness and cause us to learn more of God's statutes.   P

Sunday’s Sustenance

From Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening Devotional "He left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out." --Genesis 39:12 In contending with certain sins there remains no mode of victory but by flight. The ancient naturalists wrote much of basilisks, whose eyes fascinated their victims and rendered them easy victims; so the mere gaze of wickedness puts us in solemn danger. He who would be safe from acts of evil must haste away from occasions of it. A covenant must be made with our eyes not even to look upon the cause of temptation, for such sins only need a spark to begin with and a blaze follows in an instant. Who would wantonly enter the leper's prison and sleep amid its horrible corruption? He only who desires to be leprous himself would thus court contagion. If the mariner knew how to avoid a storm, he would do anything rather than run the risk of weathering it. Cautious pilots have no desire to try how near the quicksand they can sail, or how often they may
