For the missionary wife:

When you are alone, your husband is traveling, and it may seem impossible not to be anxious especially if he is delayed – there is only one remedy-large and frequent doses of the Word. We tend to think that God’s promises are only for those who pioneer and dare great deeds for His sake.  but the staying-at-home-to-look-after-the-children- mother can also be way-worn and lonely, and for her too He has promised His presence “even unto the ends of the earth." ~From Sometimes I Prefer To Fuss by Verda Peet, Thailand missionary

Lockhart Update – July through October

Guess it has been a while since I posted any family updates.  The Last one was in June .  Busy, Busy, Busy, but life goes on and we are one day closer to being with the Lord!  Mel was off for a couple days in July and we were able to go to the Blue Ridge and enjoy riding and hiking and meditating on the goodness of God and His creation. Wednesday’s Wisdom

Psalms 119:24  Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors. Is the Word of God my continual delight and do I allow it to counsel me? This verse brought reminders of the verse below: Proverbs 11:14  Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety. Proverbs 15:22  Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. Proverbs 24:6  For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety. May the testimonies of God be my conintual delight and my counsellors.  God’s Word is the best source of counsel!

Smiles From Grand Kids

JD, (our grandson) "escaped" from grandpa tonight while being babysat during choir practice. When he returned, Grandpa told him if you touch the doorknob, you might get a whippin', to which Addy (our grand daughter)  exclaimed "I never touch door knobs, Praise the Lord, I won't get a whippin'.
