Let us not be found wanting

Daniel 5:25-28  And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.

Daniel, chapter 5, brings a few thoughts to mind:

  1. The king’s kingdom was numbered and finished.  I need to pray   Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
  2. The king was weighed in the balances and found wanting.  As a lost individual, one is always found wanting.  He can never measure up to God’s holiness. Romans 3:23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
  3. As a saved individual I am reminded of these promises:
    • Psalms 23:1  <<A Psalm of David.>> The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
    • Psalms 34:9-10  O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.
    • James 1:4  But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Are you wanting today?

  • Turn to Christ.  He can cleanse your heart and make you whole and satisfy your soul.
  • He can make you realize that your days on earth are numbered and will soon be finished; that you need to apply our hearts to wisdom.  Psalms 111:10  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

50 Reasons Why I Love the Lord

I recently had a birthday, but more important is my spiritual birthday.  I am so thankful to be born again. This is my 50th year in the Lord!  To think that the Lord saved me and keeps me is beyond my comprehension!  I am so filled with awe and gratitude to my Lord!  Since this is my 50th year to be saved,  I wrote down 50 reasons why I love Him.  It was not a hard task.  There are so many reasons to love the Lord.  I cannot think of one reason why the Lord would want to love me, but I am so thankful that He does.  He only is our HOPE. I have been so overwhelmed with the Lord's love for me that I felt like I needed to share it with others.  If you don't know the Lord, please don't delay.  You will never regret His love for you. He first loved me. He sent His only begotten son to die in my place. He forgives all my sin He saved me by His shed blood He has never left nor forsaken me. He is ever merciful and His mercies are new every morning. He gives grace

Wednesday’s Wisdom

1 Kings 8:61  Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day. How much do we give? Psalms 96:8-9 “Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name:” (Give Praise and worship) “bring an offering, and come into his courts.” (Give personal wealth) “O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.” (Give practical witness) “ God wants our praise.  The world needs our practical witness of a holy life.  and we need to give our personal wealth.  God does not need our gifts-but we need to give.  The greatest gift we can give is to give our lives to His service. ~The above is from My Morning Manna, vol. 3, p. 226, by Ed Nelson
