Exodus 31:17. . . for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth,
and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

What a blessing to know that on the 7th day of the week we can be rested and refreshed.  I praise God for the privilege of meeting with fellow believers and be refreshed through His Word every Sunday.

Our guest speaker shared the following with us in our morning service today.
  • Acts 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
  • Paul had a right attitude towards himself - His Christian life was not one of self love (which is natural), but was one of self denial (which is supernatural)
  • Paul had a right attitude toward his mission - His mission was to finish his course and to finish it with joy.
    • Sometimes the trouble we go through is the means God uses to accomplish His mission in our lives.
    • Success is finding the will of God and doing it!
  •  Paul had a right attitude towards ministry.
    • If you have a servant's heart you will never be without a ministry.
  • Paul had a right attitude towards his message. - His message was to get the gospel of Jesus Christ out!

Some Things do not have an End

I love my family.  There are the only thing on earth you can take with you to eternity.  How important to share the gospel with all of them!  It is exciting to see my grand children, one by one come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior.  I look forward to the day when each one of them has been saved through the blood of Jesus Christ and I look forward to that great reunion in heaven.  You can be 100% sure!

      9 Characteristics of a Christian’s Music

I love to listen and sit under the influence of Dr. Don Scovill, music chairman of Ambassador Baptist College and music director at our church, Maranatha Baptist Church of Shelby, NC. He has been teaching in Sunday School on music.  Last Sunday he gave us 9 characteristics of a Christian’s Music.  Truly, the music of a Christian ought to be different from that of the world. My music must show my changed life or regenerated experience.  If there is no change, then we have a defective salvation or perhaps, no salvation.  2Corinthians 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. My music should show ownership. We are not our own.  We belong to Christ.  Be careful what you put into your body, mind, and soul.  Does it reflect the ownership of Christ? 1 Corinthians 6:19-20  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which y...
