SNOW

Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
***********************
Yes, my thoughts and my ways are not necessarily what the Lord has planned for me. There was a winter storm watch for eastern US including the Carolinas.   I did not expect to be trapped in the house all weekend, but due to snow and ice, I was.  The Lord knows what we need and what is best for us.  I am thankful for safety and protection, for a warm house and a loving family. Praise the Lord, the power did not go out!   I had everything I needed and more!

1 Timothy 6:8 And having food and raiment
let us be therewith content.

 You can see one lone sparrow to the left in the picture below.  There have actually been many our there today eating off my bird feeder.  I was reminded that the Lord cares for the sparrows and that I am of much more value than any sparrow.  I also saw doves earlier in the day surrounding the sparrows.  I was reminded of the Holy Spirit who rested on Christ at His baptism.  How He delights in resting on us each day and guiding us through our Christian life. He can be such a powerful influence in my life, if I will but ask it to be so!

Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

50 Reasons Why I Love the Lord

I recently had a birthday, but more important is my spiritual birthday.  I am so thankful to be born again. This is my 50th year in the Lord!  To think that the Lord saved me and keeps me is beyond my comprehension!  I am so filled with awe and gratitude to my Lord!  Since this is my 50th year to be saved,  I wrote down 50 reasons why I love Him.  It was not a hard task.  There are so many reasons to love the Lord.  I cannot think of one reason why the Lord would want to love me, but I am so thankful that He does.  He only is our HOPE. I have been so overwhelmed with the Lord's love for me that I felt like I needed to share it with others.  If you don't know the Lord, please don't delay.  You will never regret His love for you. He first loved me. He sent His only begotten son to die in my place. He forgives all my sin He saved me by His shed blood He has never left nor forsaken me. He is ever merciful and His mercies are new every morning. He gives grace

Wednesday’s Wisdom

1 Kings 8:61  Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day. How much do we give? Psalms 96:8-9 “Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name:” (Give Praise and worship) “bring an offering, and come into his courts.” (Give personal wealth) “O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.” (Give practical witness) “ God wants our praise.  The world needs our practical witness of a holy life.  and we need to give our personal wealth.  God does not need our gifts-but we need to give.  The greatest gift we can give is to give our lives to His service. ~The above is from My Morning Manna, vol. 3, p. 226, by Ed Nelson
