Prosperity

What is true prosperity?  God says Joseph was prosperous even in bondage, even in prison, in all of his difficult circumstances - not just when things were going well.  It is obvious that his life followed Psalm 1:
  1. He was blessed for not walking in the counsel of the ungodly...
  2. HIs delight was in God's law - he meditated in it day and night. (although the actual law had not been given, he still had been taught obedience to God's commands.
  3. He was like a tree planted by the rivers of water - his fruit came forth in the right seasons of his life. (there was fruit through every stage that God brought him through from prison to second in rule)  He did not wither.  EVERYTHING he did prospered.
  4. He realized that God knew his way and was taking him along the path that was best for his life.
Psalms 1:1-6 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

A Song in My Heart:
Delight, Delight yourself in the Lord and He will show you the path you're to take
And when trials come and we trust in the Lord, He will show us that path we're to take.

May the delight of my heart and the hearts of my husband, children, and grandchildren be only in the Lord and in His law.  May we delight in meditating therein, knowing that this is what brings true prosperity and will  lead us along the right path of life!

Thanksgiving:
  • Mel and I have been able to talk every day even though he is in Brazil.  Amazing!  A country can be so poor yet there is still internet and cell phones and it costs almost nothing to make a phone call.  We are so blessed and I wonder how missionaries did it years ago.
  • Mel and Jeremy are getting some needed things accomplished to aid in setting up the house before the whole family goes to Brazil.
  • The Lord has granted Mel and Jeremy good health before they left and now while they are in Brazil. Praise the Lord because there has been much sickness running through our family lately.
  • What a blessing to be able to county my blessings daily and to be encouraged through them!

50 Reasons Why I Love the Lord

I recently had a birthday, but more important is my spiritual birthday.  I am so thankful to be born again. This is my 50th year in the Lord!  To think that the Lord saved me and keeps me is beyond my comprehension!  I am so filled with awe and gratitude to my Lord!  Since this is my 50th year to be saved,  I wrote down 50 reasons why I love Him.  It was not a hard task.  There are so many reasons to love the Lord.  I cannot think of one reason why the Lord would want to love me, but I am so thankful that He does.  He only is our HOPE. I have been so overwhelmed with the Lord's love for me that I felt like I needed to share it with others.  If you don't know the Lord, please don't delay.  You will never regret His love for you. He first loved me. He sent His only begotten son to die in my place. He forgives all my sin He saved me by His shed blood He has never left nor forsaken me. He is ever merciful and His mercies are new every morning. He gives grace

Wednesday’s Wisdom

1 Kings 8:61  Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day. How much do we give? Psalms 96:8-9 “Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name:” (Give Praise and worship) “bring an offering, and come into his courts.” (Give personal wealth) “O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.” (Give practical witness) “ God wants our praise.  The world needs our practical witness of a holy life.  and we need to give our personal wealth.  God does not need our gifts-but we need to give.  The greatest gift we can give is to give our lives to His service. ~The above is from My Morning Manna, vol. 3, p. 226, by Ed Nelson
