Child Birth at 65!

Child Birth at 65 With all the new technology regarding fertility recently, a 65-year-old friend of mine was able to give birth. When she was discharged from the hospital and went home, I went to visit.   'May I see the new baby?' I asked 'Not yet,' She said 'I'll make coffee and we can visit for a while first.'   Thirty minutes had passed, and I asked, 'May I see the new baby now?' 'No, not yet,' She said. After another few minutes had elapsed, I asked again, 'May I see the baby now?' 'No, not yet,' replied my friend. Growing very impatient, I asked, 'Well, when can I see the baby?' 'WHEN HE CRIES!' she told me. 'WHEN HE CRIES?' I demanded. 'Why do I have to wait until he CRIES?' 'BECAUSE I FORGOT WHERE I PUT HIM, *O.K.?!!'*

We are so Rich!

We are so rich materially speaking. The Lord has blessed us with many "THINGS". I am thankful for all of them and for the Lord's blessing in this way. Yet, I know these "THINGS" will never bring true satisfaction. May these "THINGS" that the Lord has blessed us with be used only for His honor and glory! And may I never forget that! Where do we get true wealth? Proverbs 22:4 says: "By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life." This is true wealth and brings soul's satisfaction!

BIRTHING ORDER

Just some fun stuff to pass along. This was sent to me in an e-mail. Enjoy! Birthing order: Funny; however, oh so true! BIRTH ORDER OF CHILDREN 1st baby: You begin wearing maternity clothes as soon as your OB/GYN confirms your pregnancy. 2nd baby: You wear you r regular clothes for as long as possible. 3rd baby: Your maternity clothes ARE your regular clothes. ********************************* Preparing for the Birth: 1st baby: You practice your breathing religiously. 2nd baby: You don't bother because you remember that last time, breathing didn't do a thing. 3rd baby: You ask for an epidural in your eighth month. ********************************* The Layette: 1st baby: You pre-wash newborn's clothes, color-coordinate them, and fold them neatly in the baby's little bureau. 2nd baby: You check to make sure that the clothes are clean and discard only the ones with the darkest stains. 3rd baby: Boys can wear pink, can't they? ********************************* Worries...

Silver and Hid Treasures

“My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, [and] apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, [and] liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as [for] hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.” (Pr 2:1-5) What better treasure is there than the Word of God.   How amazing to think that the Word of God is God with us!   May we as parents and grandparents, spend time daily finding the many treasures in the Word of God and may we endeavor to share them with our family, friends, and neighbors!

Does It Get Under Your Skin?

There once was an oyster whose story I tell, Who found that sand had got under his shell, Just one little grain, but it gave him much pain, For oysters have feelings although they're so plain. Now, did he berate the working of Fate, Which had led him to such a deplorable state? Did he curse out the government, call for an election? No, as he lay on the shelf he said to himself "If I cannot remove it, I'll try to improve it." So the years rolled by as the years always do, And he came to his ultimate destiny - stew. And this small grain of sand which had bothered him so, was a beautiful pearl, all richly aglow. Now this tale has a moral for isn't it grand What an oyster can do with a morsel of sand, What couldn't we do if we'd only begin With all of the things that get under our skin.
