Abundant Life for All!

"That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:15-16 ) "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3:17-18 ) "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12 ) "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." (Acts 16:31 ) "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." ...

Day Is Dying in the West

Day is dying in the west; Heaven is touching earth with rest; Wait and worship while the night Sets the evening lamps alight Through all the sky. Refrain Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of Hosts! Heaven and earth are full of Thee! Heaven and earth are praising Thee, O Lord most high! Lord of life, beneath the dome Of the universe, Thy home, Gather us who seek Thy face To the fold of Thy embrace, For Thou art nigh. Refrain While the deepening shadows fall, Heart of love enfolding all, Through the glory and the grace Of the stars that veil Thy face, Our hearts ascend. Refrain When forever from our sight Pass the stars, the day, the night, Lord of angels, on our eyes Let eternal morning rise And shadows end. Words: Mary Artemesia Lathbury , 1877 (verses 1-2) & 1879 (verses 3-4). She wrote this hymn, and Break Thou the Bread of Life, on the shores of Lake Chautauqua, New York.         CYBERHYMNAL How quic...

Blessed Is The Woman

Blessed is the woman Who can hold onto her children while letting them go, Who puts a tranquil home ahead of an immaculate house, Who knows a kind act will be remembered longer than an easy word, Who really believes that prayer changes things, Whose faith in the future sweetens the present, Whose Bible never needs dusting, Whose love is shown daily in things she does for others, Whose God is the Lord!  ~author unknown

Pray about Everything

Brian Nelson came on the radio this morning with "Take A Minute". He was talking about prayer. (Oh, how important to pray about everything! How important to pray for our children and our grandchildren!) Someone asked him are we bothering God if we pray over every little thing? She goes so far as to even pray over which can of tuna fish to buy. Although, Mr. Nelson said he probably would not go that far, he did say no, we are not bothering God. He went away thinking tuna fish? But a few weeks later, he heard on the news that someone had died from botulism. Where did it come from? It came from rotten cans of tuna fish! What a testimony to God's grace in protecting us in so many ways that we never give thought to. So yes, let us pray about everything. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing. Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Here is just one ...

In His Favor Is Life!

This past weekend brought a lot of excitement as our 10th grandchild arrived on the scene! What a blessing. Esther went to the hospital on Friday afternoon and delivered little Judah Michael on Friday night about 11:30 pm. He weight 7.5 lbs. and was 20 inches long. Both Mom and baby are doing very well. And Dad and big sisters are very proud as well as grandparents and aunts and uncles. What a blessing to have another one added to the family that can be trained to love the Lord and to serve Him all His days. For certainly God has a special plan for each of us as life is precious to Him. Psalms 30:5 "...in his favour is life:"

Sunrise, Sunset

Sunrise, Sunset Is this the little girl I carried? Is this the little boy at play? I don't remember growing older When did they? Sunrise, sunset Sunrise, sunset Swiftly flow the days Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers Blossoming even as we gaze Sunrise, sunset Sunrise, sunset Swiftly fly the years One season following another Laden with happiness and tear You may recognize some of the words above from the lyrics of "Sunrise, Sunset" from "Fiddler on the Roof" The words are a good reminder of how swiftly the days go by and that our lives are but a vapor. As I meditate on this I am only prayerful that I can pass the following words of wisdom on to my children and grandchildren. May their lives count for eternity. What words of wisdom can I give them? How can I help to ease their way? May their trust be only in the Lord Day by Day Proverbs 1:7-10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. My son, hear...
