Memorizing Scripture

Recently I came across a Bible Memory Program called  Memverse  So far I have found it very beneficial to me. Now that I am getting older, I find it very hard to memorize and often I will want to recall a verse, and can't. If you go to their learning page this is what you see to show how the program works.

Memverse.com keeps track of all your Bible memory verses. It is entirely online so there is no software to download, there are no flash cards to carry around, and, best of all, you will be gradually building up a library of biblical knowledge. It's also free, and always will be.

When you first login, you will be given the opportunity to add memory verses. We recommend starting with about 6 to 10 memory verses and then gradually adding memory verses over time as you memorize the ones in your repertoire.

I have been reading a Kindle eBook by Warren Wiersbe:

Wiersbe, Warren (2011). The Strategy of Satan (Kindle Locations 324-333). Tyndale House Publishers. Kindle Edition.  This is what he says about meditating on the Word of God:

We must meditate on God’s Word. Meditation is to the inner man what digestion is to the outer man. If you did not digest your food, you would sicken and die.

Joshua 1:8  This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Psalms 1:2  But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Do you sincerely delight in the Word of God, or do you read it only out of duty? Do you rush through your “morning devotions,” or take time to feed on God’s Truth?
